Counselling is being provided to students at the Jonathan Grant High School in St Catherine following the death of their schoolmate yesterday.

He has been identified as Omarco Brown, a 12-year-old boy of Snake Hill District, Point Hill, St. Catherine.

Detectives assigned to the St. Catherine South police are probing the circumstances surrounding his death.

Reports are that at about 5:00 P.M., Residents reportedly heard an explosion and alerted the police.

On their arrival, Omarco was seen on the floor of a bedroom with a gunshot to the head.

reports are that a service pistol was also found in the room.
