Canadian men’s 4×100 metres relay team to receive Olympic Silver medal on Saturday

The Canadian men’s 4×100 metres relay team that was upgraded to silver last year after the British team was subsequently disqualified due to a positive doping test. 

The quartet of André de Grasse, Aaron Brown, Jerome Blake and Brendon Rodney will be awarded their Olympic silver medals at the Canadian national trials in a medal reallocation ceremony, according to the Canadian Olympic Committee.

The Canadian Athletics team finished third in the 4×100 metres relay final at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics behind Britain, but Cj Ujah of the British team tested positive for doping, and they were eventually stripped of their silver medals last year.

The people’s republic of china have also been moved up from fourth to third after the disqualification of great Britain.

The 4×100 metres relay final was won by Italy in 37.50 seconds.
