Bunting hits back at PM over remarks that Jamaica would have collapsed if the PNP was in power during Covid pandemic
Opposition Senator Peter Bunting has hit back at the Prime Minister over remarks that the country would have collapsed if the People’s National Party, PNP, was in power during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking at the handing over of 50 new garbage trucks to the National Solid Waste Management Authority NSWMA on Wednesday (November 30), Prime Minister Andrew Holness said the government made the right decisions for the country, during the Covid pandemic, resulting in recovery that is better than where the fall off took place.
He added that if the pandemic had hit any other government, the prospect of collapse would have been real.
Responding to the comments during the PNP’s Manchester town hall meeting, last night (December 1) Mr. Bunting said the prime minister should stop blaming the PNP for the government’s failures.
