Blaise Bicknell makes progress to the second round of the men’s singles ITF World Tennis tour
Jamaican number one Blaise Bicknell made progress to the second round of the men’s singles competition at the ongoing ITF World Tennis Tour event, being held at the Eric Bell National Tennis Centre in Kingston.
It comes after he recorded a straight-set 6-3, 6-2 victory over Japanese opponent Kosuke Ogura in a match that lasted an hour and 16 minutes.
The 22 year old, who won the Bounty Invitational in Ocho Rios on the weekend, now awaits the winner of the first round match between American Adhithya Ganesan and Ilyas Fahim of Morocco.
Jamaica’s other representatives – John Chin and Daniel Azar – will bow into action on Wednesday against Aryan Shah and Kiranpal Pannu respectively.
