UPDATE: Police identify mother and son killed in Mandela Highway crash

A woman and her son were killed in a motorvehicle accident on the Mandela Highway, in Kingston, this morning (January 9), while a third child was injured.

 

The deceased are 40-year-old Tameika Peart and 18-year-old Jelano Wright of Grassquit Glade, in Kingston.

 

Reports are that about 1:50 a-m, Peart was driving a BMW motor car with her two sons aboard heading towards Portmore, St. Catherine.

 

On reaching a section of the roadway she allegedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed.

 

The police were alerted, and all three occupants were taken to hospital, where Peart and Wright were pronounced dead and her other son was admitted for treatment.
