Dancehall heavyweight Bounty Killer has publicly congratulated Vybz Kartel on being crowned King of the Dancehall.
Bounty shared a photo from Kartel’s crowning ceremony, along with a lengthy caption outlining some of Kartel’s achievements.
He wrote in part, “Gradually, finally, and it’s officially — as I said before — a King has risen, one who created a kingdom while being imprisoned.”
Bounty also posed a challenge to critics, asking, “Tell me who has done more in the last 20 years musically and culturally? Give me a name, please — I’m waiting.”
In the comments, one user fired back, claiming, “Beenie Man is the King of Dancehall. Stop mek Joe mash up the thing.”
Bounty didn’t hold back in his response: “Your King isn’t ours. Simple. Today is a new day — get with it or get left.”
