Reigning world and Wanda Diamond League 200m champion Shericka Jackson will open her Wanda Diamond League campaign for 2023 over 100 meters at the Seashore group Doha meeting on May 5 in Doha, Qatar.
Jackson who is the first athlete in history to win a full set of World Championships medals across three sprint disciplines the 100 metres, 200 metres, and 400 metres, and the first Jamaican to run under 11 seconds for 100 metres, under 22 seconds for 200m and under 50 seconds for 400 meters will have former world 200 metres champion Dina Asher Smith in the line-up.
The five time Olympic medallist who ran a world-leading 10.82 seconds in her first 100 metres race of the year at the MVP velocity fest 13 on Saturday has won four of the five previous meetings against Asher-Smith over 100 meters.
Three members of the USA’s World Championships winning 4 x 100m relay team are also included in the field for the event , Melissa Jefferson, Abby Steiner and and Twanisha Terry…………….along with their compatriot Sha’carrie Richardson.
