This incident took place during Australia’s group B’ match of the ICC Men’s T/20 World Cup 2024 against England in Barbados. 

Australia went on to win the match up which was played at Kensington oval by 36 runs.

In the 18th over of Australia’s innings, wade played a delivery from Adil Rashid back to the bowler but expected it to be called a ‘dead ball’ by the umpire, however when the umpire didn’t make the call, Wade argued with the umpires over the decision.

The wicket-keeper batter was found in breach of article 2.8 of the icc code of conduct for players and player support personnel, which relates to “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an international match.”

In addition, one demerit point has been added to wade’s disciplinary record, it was his first offence in a 24-month period.
