Craig Butler will not stand in Leon Bailey’s way to play for Jamaica

President of the Phoenix Football Academy Craig Butler says he will not stand in Leon Bailey’s way, if the Aston Villa winger still wants to play for Jamaica.

Bailey has been at odds in recent times with local governing body the JFF who suspended his selection to the senior men’s national team, in light of circumstances surrounding his comments and non-participation in the Copa America Tournament back in June, despite being selected.

However, the issue of his selection has once again risen to forefront with new Reggae Boys coach Steve Mcclaren being given a clean slate and the opportunity to invite any player he chooses to the national squad.

Speaking with Irie Fm sports Butler says, going forward he will not influence Bailey’s decision with the Reggae Boys.
