High school basketball has received a significant boost with ISSA the Jamaica basketball association and the Jamaica Tourist board signing an agreement to facilitate a 3-on-3 basketball competition as part of the upcoming Jersey Mike Jamaica Classic NCAA basketball tournament.. 

The Jersey Mike Classic which is in its 4th staging is scheduled to run from November 18 to 20 and will feature 8 NCAA division one teams.

The group includes two returning teams….Georgetown and Loyola Marymount and 6 newcomers in Lasalle, Queens, Wake Forest, Utah Valley, Morgan State and the University of Wisconsin.

The 3-on-3 basketball competition will be contested by approximately 30 local high school teams.

The skills segment will focus on clinics for the under 13  age group while the competition will zone in on young men and women up to 19 who are eligible for scholastic and athletic pursuits.
