Positive 4-2 start for Reggae Boys over Cuba in Concacaf Under 17 Championship
Jamaica”s national junior footballers opened their World Cup qualifying campaign on a positive note yesterday when they knocked off Cuba 4-2 in their opening contest at the Concacaf Under 17 championships at the Mateo Flores stadium in Guatemala.
Three second half goals from Orane Watson and Ashton Gordon spearheaded the Jamaica win after Jahmani Bell had given the young reggae boys a 22nd minute lead.
Watson struck in the 56th and 77th minutes, and Gordon completed the scoring in minute 79.
The young reggae boys will be back in action tomorrow against Guadelope.
They were beaten 2-1 yesterday in the other group c match by Costa Rica.
In other games yesterday El Salvador turned back Haiti 3-1 and Honduras hammered Suriname 6-1.
In today’s action Barbados take on Canada and Cuaracao face Panama in the early games, after which Guatemala meets Mexico and Trinidad and Tobago take on the USA.
