Two high powered rifles and more than 70 rounds of ammunition were seized, and a man detained by detectives, during an early morning operation in Mountain View, Kingston, this morning (June 9).

Reports are that the team from the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation (C-TOC) branch conducted operations at a house on Jacques Road at about 8:25 AM.

The two high powered rifles, 28 5.56 MM cartridges, 42 9 MM cartridges, one 7.26 cartridge and three ballistic vests were seized.

The identity of the man in custody is being withheld pending further investigations.
