An alleged gunman was fatally shot during a shoot-out with the police in Central Village, St. Catherine on Sunday.
He has not yet been identified.
Head of the St. Catherine South Police Division, Senior Superintendent Christopher Phillips told Irie Fm news that the incident occurred at about 3:25pm.
He said a police team was in the 9/11 area, when they heard loud explosions and responded.
SSP Phillips said the cops were fired upon by four men with high powered weapons.
And SSP Phillips is warning criminals that the police will not relent in their efforts to stem illegal activities.
