The police were alerted and a roadblock setup on the Spur Tree Hill main road, in search of a black Toyota Vitz motorcar.

It is further reported, that the driver failed to stop when signaled by the police, and a chase ensued.

The gunmen allegedly shot at the police, during the chase, which ended on Queensway Close, in Kingsland Meadows.

The lawmen reportedly returned gunfire, and three of the gunmen were shot, while a fourth man escaped in bushes.

The wounded men were taken to hospital, where two of them were pronounced dead.

The third man was admitted, under police guard.
