Local Government Minister Desmond Mckenzie says he expects a drop in centre for the homeless to be built in Port Antonio, Portland, by the end of 2023.

Speaking during a tour of a proposed site on West Baptist Avenue, adjacent to the poor relief department in Port Antonio, Mr. Mckenzie said the facility will be able to accommodate between 25 and 30 people.

He instructed the mayor of Port Antonio and technical teams to do all the necessary preliminary work so that construction of the building can commence, as soon as possible.
