Persons seeking to buy land are being urged to follow the legal process of doing so, with the guidance of a real estate lawyer.
This, in the wake of a demolition exercise being undertaken in a so called captured land, next to the Clifton Community in Bernard Lodge St Catherine.
Its reported that many of the unsuspecting residents were sold lots by criminals pretending to be the land owners, the residents then spent thousand of dollars to build their homes.
However, they did so without receiving land titles, only receipts they got from the criminals.
Attorney at law Linton Gordon said part of the process, is getting a surveyors diagram of the property being sold.
Mr Gordon said the person selling the land should produce a written agreement.
The lawyer said persons should not build on land without certainty of ownership.
