Alleged gunman shot dead during attack on Beryllium security team in Mandeville last evening
An alleged gunman was shot dead and a firearm seized during an attack on a Beryllium security team at a distribution centre in Grey Ground on the outskirts of Mandeville, last evening.
The deceased has not yet been identified.
Reports are that at about 7:00 PM a group of gunmen attacked the courier team at the centre.
An alarm was raised and a shootout reportedly ensued and one of the attackers was fatally shot.
This is the latest in a series of attacks on vehicles and guards attached to the company.
Meantime, Member of Parliament for Manchester Central Rhoda Crawford who visited the scene has condemned gun attacks in the parish.
She, however, lauded the security forces for their quick action.
