Administrative workers at UTECH return to work following silent protest this morning

Administrative workers at the University of Technology, in Kingston have returned to normal duties, following a silent protest this morning (November 28).

The University of Technology Administrative Staff Association, UTASA, had protested outside the institution, to register their anger about an outstanding salary review exercise.

UTASA had said no meaningful effort has been made by the management, in that regard, which has led to the frustration of the staff.

Following the protest UTECH‘s administration and the senior members of the unionized staff met over the issue.

President of UTASA Janette Grayson said management has promised to address the issue and as such administrative staff are back on the job.

She noted however, that if the administration does not deliver on its promise, UTASA is prepared to take the matter further.
