There are 8 suspected leptospirosis related deaths.

Principal Medical Officer and National Epidemiologist, Dr. Karen Webster-Kerr made the disclosure at a press conference this morning.

She noted that as at yesterday, there were 87 suspected leptospirosis cases, 37 of which are post Hurricane Melissa cases.

She said 6 of the deaths, are considered post Melissa casualties.

Dr Webster-Kerr underscored that most of the suspected cases are from parishes most affected by the hurricane.
