Irie F M founder Karl Young and King of Reggae Bob Marley listed among inductees for Wall of Fame
Irie F M’s founder Karl ‘Chief’ Young, and Jamaica’s King of Reggae Robert Nesta ‘Bob’ Marley were today named among the first set of inductees on the Wall of Fame.
The inductees were announced by Ainsworth ‘Big A’ Higgins, during Irie F M’s 35th anniversary celebration at Kaya in Drax Hall, St. Ann.
He pointed out that 5 inductees will be chosen by the public.
The wall is expected to be erected by October.
The initiative is part of activities to observe Irie F M’s birthday, marking 35 years on air as Jamaica’s number one reggae radio station.
This 35th anniversary is a reflection of the station’s deep roots in Jamaican life and its ongoing mission to preserve and promote Jamaican music, identity and freedom of expression.
The celebrations at Kaya Drax Hall will continue until midnight.
