A visionary leader, a nation builder and a stalwart partner.

That’s how the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica (PSOJ) remembers former Government Senator and former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the GraceKennedy Group Don Wehby.

The business titan passed away Saturday night at the University Hospital of the West Indies, after ailing for some time.

In a release yesterday, the PSOJ said it is deeply saddened by the passing of a transformational business leader and a committed public servant.

It said his professional journey, most notably as GraceKennedy Group’s CEO, was marked by unwavering integrity and an enduring belief in the power of business to uplift communities and transform lives.

The PSOJ said as a member of its organization, Mr. Wehby served with distinction in several capacities, including as Vice President, Honorary Treasurer and member of the Economic Policy Committee.

Mr. Wehby is lauded for his insights, which helped to shape critical advocacy efforts aimed at improving Jamaica’s business environment and economic competitiveness.

Beyond his official roles, the PSOJ hailed Mr. Wehby as a consistent voice of reason, a generous mentor and a unifying presence within the private sector.
