Second suspect in large gun find in Kingston arrested and charged

A second man who was being sought in relation to the seizure of 14 firearms on Deeside Avenue, Kingston, last month, has been arrested and charged.

He is 37-year-old Julian McLeish, a phone technician of Dunrobin Acres. 

Reports are that on May 28, lawmen were on operation when a premises was searched and 14 firearms, 12 magazines and more than 50 rounds of ammunition were found and seized. 

38 year old Lamar Douglas, otherwise called ‘Joe’, of Patrick City, who was on bail in relation to another case, was taken into custody.

Douglas was charged on Wednesday, June 4.

Following the operation, Julian McLeish was listed as a person of interest and was urged to report to the police.

The Clarendon police, acting on information, conducted an operation at a premises in Waterlane, last Saturday. 

McLeish and other persons were arrested. 

The identities of the other individuals are being withheld pending further investigations.

McLeish was charged on Tuesday with 13 counts of possession of prohibited weapon, dealing in prohibited weapons, stockpiling prohibited weapons, conspiracy to traffic, and deal in and stockpiling prohibited weapons.
