Efforts to complete roof repairs at NMIA underway with arrangements solidified with contractors from Israel
Efforts to complete roof repairs at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) in Kingston are underway with arrangements solidified with contractors from Israel.
Director of Maintenance, Kathryn Prendergast, made the disclosure during an NMIA forum today.
She said local contractors were used to fix one of two roofs at the airport.
Ms. Prendergast noted, however, that the designs and materials needed for the repair of the other roof were not available in Jamaica.
As such, foreign contractors were employed.
She said it is hoped that the containers with materials will reach the island by July.
