Man deported from US charged for murder after landing
A man who was deported from the United States last Thursday has been charged with murder and other offences.
He is 33 year old Rasheim Brown otherwise called “Shem” of Regent Street, Kingston 14.
Brown has been charged with Murder, Wounding with intent, Possession of a prohibited weapon, Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition and Making use of a Firearm to Commit a Felony.
It’s reported that brown fled the island following the murder of 55 year old Mark Mckenzie last December.
Police say Brown and other gunmen entered Mckenzie’s home and opened gunfire hitting him and two other persons.
The attackers then fled the scene.
Police were alerted and the wounded people were taken to hospital where Mckenzie was pronounced dead and the others admitted.
Head of the Area Four police Assistant Commissioner Michael Phipps said brown who was wanted by the police was deported after entering the United States illegally.
He said the arrest and charge of brown is indicative of the constabulary’s stance against violence producers.
