Prime Minister Andrew Holness has indicated that with Hurricane Beryl likely to develop into a category 3 storm by next week, several response agencies are now on alert.

Speaking today at the St. Andrew south district consultative committee conference, Mr. Holness said if the worst should happen, the government is prepared.

He urged citizens to also begin preparation for their own safety, which includes protection of critical documents and property.
