Defending champions Lyssons Primary stars the show on day two of Insports Eastern Primary Schools Athletics Championship
Defending champions Lyssons Primary leads the standings at the end of an exciting day two at the Insports Eastern Primary Schools Athletics Championship at the Stadium East Track.
On a day when 10 records were broken, Lyssons leads the overall standings on 86 points, with Harbour view second on 67 and Rousseau third on 49.
Lyssons was the star of the show in the adternoon session winning three of eight relays on offer and finishing among the medals in two others.
The St Thomas based school set a new meet record on their way to victory in the girls class 1 4×100 metres relay, with a new mark of 52.36, and they also set the new record of the boys equivalent clocking 50.54 seconds, the same time credited to the winner Rosseau Primary.
Lyssons also took the class two girls and the class 4 girls sprint relay titles.
Earlier Joshua Mcwilliams of Lawerence Tavern broke the record in the boys class one 100 meters semi-final, after he clocked 12.55 seconds to break the old mark of 12.58 seconds.
