The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing the circumstances surrounding the shooting of two security guards, one of them fatally, by police in Negril, Westmoreland, yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Dellon Harding. The other man, who is 28 years old, is being treated at hospital.

The guards who were on duty at the Sunshine Plaza in Negril, were allegedly mistaken for gunmen.

INDECOM says the guards employed to Secure World, were reportedly shot by officers attached to the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime (C-TOC) branch.

No firearm was reported as recovered from the incident.

Assistant Commissioner of INDECOM, Hamish Campbell told IRIE FM News that enquiries continue, to further understand the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

He said INDECOM is also probing the fatal shooting of 64-year-old farmer and construction worker, Donald Green, by police in Garlands, St. James, on Sunday.
