The government will be moving to amend some of the country’s legislation surrounding business operations in an effort to woo billion dollar investors.

This according to finance minister Dr. Nigel Clarke.

Speaking this morning at the Invest Jamaica 2022 Business Conference, Dr. Clarke said the government must create the environment that makes private sector investment profitable.

In that regard, the large scale project and pioneer act will be updated to attract billion dollar investors.

He explained that the act will have provisions in it that allow qualified investors to access certain benefits.

The investors will be required to hire a minimum number of Jamaicans.
