Prime Minister raises questions about Opposition’s decision to not support SOE extension
Prime Minister Andrew Holness has raised questions about the decision taken by the Opposition to not support an extension of the States of Public Emergency.
He was reacting to reports that the resolution seeking the extension failed in the Upper House yesterday (November 25), after all the opposition senators voted against it.
As such, the SOE‘s will expire next Tuesday, November 29.
Speaking to reporters in Adelphi, St. James yesterday, Mr. Holness said the decision taken by the opposition is disappointing but not surprising.
He said all other issues are secondary to saving lives.
Mr. Holness questioned if the opposition has the interest of Jamaicans at heart.
