Spanish Town Hospital suffers water damage as a result of heavy rains
The Spanish Town Hospital in St. Catherine was affected by heavy rainfall caused by hurricane Ian, yesterday.
Regional Director of the South East Regional Health Authority, Errol Greene told IRIE FM News that the hospital was affected by ponding and leaks.
This was despite drain cleaning and other works having been carried out in anticipation of the hurricane season.
He said the situation is being managed and plans have been put in place to seek assistance from the Kingston Public Hospital in accommodating patients for surgery, if necessary.
