NWA to address flooding in Lucea
The National Works Agency (NWA) is monitoring sections of Lucea in Hanover, after heavy rainfall resulted in major flooding in sections of the town, yesterday (August 29).
Videos circulating on social media show motorists and commuters trying to navigate the flooded roadways.
Among the affected roads were Cash Hill to Mount peace, and Riley to Askenish.
In an advisory last evening, the NWA urged people heading towards Negril in Westmoreland, from Montego Bay in St. James, to travel through Savanna la mar and vice versa.
Community Relations Officer for the NWA’s western region, Janel Ricketts, told IRIE FM News, that the agency should begin works to address the situation today.
