Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce is being heralded as the greatest female sprinter of all time
Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce is being heralded as the greatest female sprinter ever following her sensational 100 metres victory at the World Athletics Championships last night in Eugene Oregon.
This makes it five world 100 metres titles for the 35 year old Fraser-Pryce who won the 100 metres in Berlin in 2009, Moscow in 2013, Beijing in 2015, Doha in 2019 and now in 2022 in Eugene.
Last night’s win was at the top of a Jamaica sweep of the podium places where she posted a championship record 10.67 seconds -a time she has clocked three times this season, to finish ahead of Shericka Jackson with a personal best 10.73 seconds and Olympic champion Elaine Thompson Herah 10.81 seconds.
Fraser-Pryce has an overall 10 world championships gold medals and two silver medals to add to her 8 Olympic medals which include 3 gold, 4 silver and one bronze medal.
Fraser -Pryce has also won one gold medal at the World Indoor Championships…………..that was in the 60 metres event in 2014 in Poland.
