70 people charged under new Firearms Act

70 people have been charged under the new Firearms Act.

Commissioner of Police, Major General Antony Anderson made the revelation during a press briefing at Jamaica House this morning (December 28).

 

He said of the 70 charged, 63 are men.

Under the new Firearms Act, if convicted, persons could serve sentences ranging from 15 years to life imprisonment.
