The St. Elizabeth police have reported that 52 tickets were issued and some 20 license plates were removed for various beaches of the Road Traffic Act during a major road operation in Junction on Wednesday (August 23).

Acting Superintendent Coleridge Minto said the initiative was conducted to ensure safety on the roads.

Superintendent Minto said one of the major discoveries of the operation is that many motorists had vehicles that were not up to standard for road use

He implored citizens to ensure their vehicles are fit for the road to prevent fatalities.
