480 people killed in road crashes since January; foreign national among latest fatalities
4 hundred and 80 people have been killed in road crashes since the start of the year.
The latest fatality occurred along the Ironshore main road in St. James, this morning (December 31).
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, but he is believed to be a 44-year-old foreign national.
Reports are that at about 12:30am, the man was crossing the roadway when he was hit by a motor car.
He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
In light of the growing number of road deaths, the National Road Safety Council is urging road users to be extremely cautious especially as they ring in the new year.
