By-elections are to be held for divisions in two municipal corporations next month.
The nomination day is November 6 and election day November 22, the same dates for the by-elections in Trelawny Southern and St. Andrew North West.
The divisions are Morant Bay in St. Thomas and Aenon Town in Clarendon.
Local Government Minister Desmond McKenzie made the announcement at this morning’s Post Cabinet press briefing.
The seats became vacant with the deaths of the councillors earlier this year.
Councillor Rohan Bryan won the Morant Bay Division for the People’s National Party in the February 2024 Local Government election. He died on May 1.
Meantime, Marjorie McLeod-McFarlane created history when she became the first Jamaica Labour Party candidate to win the Aenon Town Division in February.
She died on September 1.
