St. James Municipal Corporation presents over $5 M in Housing Relief to 100 Residents

The St. James Municipal Corporation today presented over $5 million to over 100 residents under its Housing Relief Programme. 

Chairman and Mayor of Montego Bay, Richard Vernon said the funding is aimed at assisting those affected by Hurricane Beryl, which hit in July, as well as residents facing ongoing housing challenges. 

Mr. Vernon said the beneficiaries were identified by the Poor Relief Department after they submitted  documents detailing their circumstances.

During today’s presentation, residents received letters outlining the value of their benefits for approved hardware. 

Two of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the assistance, noting that it will make a significant difference.
