Jamaican all-rounder Odean Smith has put pen to paper on a deal that will see him represent the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the 2024 edition of the Caribbean Premier League.
Smith, a transferee from the Guyana Amazon Warriors, is one of six new signings revealed by the Patriots who unveiled a list of 13 confirmed players for the upcoming season.
The group of new signings include Sri Lankan leg spinner Wanindu Hasaranga, South African batters Rilee Rossouw and Tristan Stubbs as well as Zimbabwean international Sikandar Raza and hugely the exciting Sri Lankan seam bowler Nuwan Thusara.
The West Indies players retained by the team are Evin Lewis, Andre Fletcher, Dominic Drakes, Joshua Da Silva, Ashmead Nedd, Johann Layne and Sherfane Rutherford – who captained the team last season – with Sheldon Cottrell and Oshane Thomas the two notable exclusions.
The club has four remaining spots to be filled at the CPL draft in July.
The Patriots finished at the bottom of the table in 2023 with just one victory in 10 matches.
