Budapest world 100 metre hurdles champion Danielle Williams is among three reigning global champions confirmed to contest the sprint hurdles at the Yangtze Delta Athletics Diamond Gala, part of the Wanda Diamond League, in Suzhou, China on April 27.
Williams who regained the world title last year eight years after her first global gold will go head to head with Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn and world indoor champion Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas,
In between her two World Championships triumphs, Williams was also crowned Diamond League Champion in 2019.
The Bahamian star charlton is hoping to claim her first ever Diamond League win this season, as she looks to translate her world-beating indoor form into the outdoor season. Charlton twice broke the World Indoor 60m hurdles record earlier this year.
Camacho-Quinn is a seasoned Diamond League campaigner, with no fewer than nine victories on the circuit since 2021……….the Olympic Champion and world silver medallist will be hoping to pick up a first career diamond trophy in 2024.
Along with the season opener in Xiamen on April 20, the Suzhou/Shanghai meeting will be the second of two Chinese events which will kick off the 2024 Wanda Diamond League season.
