Face-to-face classes resumed at the Grange Hill Primary and Grange Hill High schools in Westmoreland this morning (March 14).

This follows closure of the institutions on Tuesday and Wednesday due to alleged threats by gunmen.

Education Minister Fayval Williams confirmed the reopening which she said was facilitated by support from the security forces.

Mrs. Williams said these incidents solidify the need for transformation in the education sector.

She said while online learning took place in the interim, the internet connectivity is not at the level it should be in the community.

The Education Minister said the psychological support needed for the students and staff of both institutions, highlights the need for all citizens to come aboard in transforming the education sector.
