$400 million included in supplementary estimates for procurement of JUTC buses

Government has included funds required to procure new buses for the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) in its revised estimates for this fiscal year.

One hundred buses are to be procured.

Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke told parliament that the $400 million deposit for the vehicles, is in the supplementary estimates, that he tabled yesterday.

Dr. Clarke also noted that funds have been allocated to the JUTC under the capital budget, to cover impact of the fare reduction recently implemented.
