As the police continue efforts to put an end to lottery scamming in the country, homeowners and property managers are being reminded to be vigilant when choosing tenants.
The reminder follows a police operation at a premises in Phoenix Village, Portmore, St. Catherine yesterday (July 24), where ten males and one female were taken into custody after several electronic devices were found.
Three of the men were charged following checks of the devices.
They are 21-year-old Noel Romeo-Martin, a farmer of Hague in Trelawny, 20-year-old Rivaldo Cousins, otherwise called ‘Raheem’, a music producer, of Rio Nuevo, St. Ann and 22-year-old Javel Watson, a bearer of St. Jago Grove, Spanish Town, St. Catherine.
The 8 other individuals have been released pending further investigations.
Acting Commander for the St. Catherine South Police, Superintendent Hopton Nicholson said with some of those nabbed being from other parishes, homeowners and property managers, must take the necessary steps to ensure criminals are not living on their properties.
