Jamaicans are being encouraged to always practice emergency drills, even at home, so that they know what to do in the event of a disaster.
The advisory came from Public Relations Officer at the Fire Brigade Emelio Ebanks, while speaking at an Asis International Jamaica chapter virtual forum on Weednesday evening.
The forum facilitated discussions on the capacity and capability of the essential service, especially with concern about the proliferation of high rise buildings in the corporate area.
Ebanks pointed out that the brigade is equipped to respond to various situations, such as earthquakes and fires.
He suggested that citizens carry out regular drills, so that their response to an emergency, becomes habitual.
