Dejanea Oakley among  the  four  finalists for the class of 2026 Honda Sport Award for track and field

Former  Clarendon  College  quarter-miler  Dejanea Oakley  has  been  named  among  the  four  finalist   for the class of 2026 honda sport award for track & field.

Oakley  competing  for  the  University  of  Georgia  and  her teamate  Adejah Hodge of  the  British Virgin  Islands  along  with  Sanu Jallow-lockhart from the University of Arkansas and Aexlina Johansson of the University of Nebraska were  unveiled  today  as  the  finalists by Executive Director of the Collegiate Women Sports awards Chris Voelz. 

The Honda Sport Award honors the nation’s top women athletes in 12 NCAA-sanctioned sports, symbolizing “the best of the best in collegiate athletics.”

The recipient will become a finalist for the prestigious Collegiate Woman Athlete of the year and the class of 2026 Honda Cup, to be presented on  Monday July 27.

Oakley, capped her collegiate career by winning the 2026 NCAA Outdoor title in the 400 meters, setting a collegiate record after finishing runner-up last year.

She also captured the 2026 NCAA Indoor 400-meter championship and helped Georgia win its third consecutive NCAA team title, including a second straight Outdoor Championship.
