JTA commits to continued advocacy for fair salaries and improved working conditions in 2025
The Jamaica Teachers’ Association JTA has noted its commitment to continuing advocacy for fair salaries, improved working conditions and resources to provide high-quality education in the new year.
In this regard, JTA president Dr. Mark Smith has urged teachers to embrace a spirit of optimism and renewal.
He noted that the new year is a time to set new goals and to recommit to the mission of educating the nation.
Dr. Smith noted that among the JTA’s goals is ensuring that teachers’ concerns are amplified and that real change begins to take root.
The JTA president urged educators to work together to build on the successes achieved this year and to address the challenges encountered.
Meantime, he noted plans to renew the 60-year-old JTA in 2025.
