Registrar General’s Department.

The artiste who a guest on CVM at Sunrise, celebrating his recent graduation from Stonybrook University where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree, double major in Political Science and History was elated after receiving the document.

Nigy Boy expressed that he felt wonderful having received the certificate in braille and noted that the
new undertaking by the RGD was a huge step for Jamaica.

Jamaica began issuing birth certificates in Braille on May 1, 2024, in what Charlton McFarlane, former CEO of the Registrar General’s Department, described as a significant milestone in our journey toward inclusion and accessibility.
