Should Jamaica’s athletes produce podium finishes at the World Championships which runs from July 15 to 24 in Eugene, Oregon, they will receive their respective medals immediately after the final.

This comes after the announcement that instant medals have been introduced for the first time in track and field.

This is designed to give athletes the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments in the moment and to share it with their family and friends.

Full medal ceremonies with national anthems are planned to take place after the event. 

Medals are set to be claimed in 49 event disciplines and on every day of the multi-sport competition.

Jamaica will be seeking to improve on it 12 medal performance at the Doha 2019 World Championships of 12 including three gold, five silver and four bronze

Jamaica could also pick up a medal on the opening day in the final of the mixed 4×400 metre relay .
