Westmoreland Chamber of Commerce president urges citizens to beware of persons requesting payments to reconnect electricity

President of the Westmoreland Chamber of Commerce, Moses Chybar is urging citizens to beware of persons requesting payments for electricity reconnection.

Speaking at the official launch, of the Jamaica Public Service, JPS Emergency Mobile Power Generation Unit, in Darliston on Sunday, Mr. Chybar warned of the illegal practice.

He urged customers to make a report about the matter to the JPS or the police.

In the meantime, Mr. Chybar also asked persons not to breach the newly installed emergency mobile power generation unit.

The unit provides interim supply of electricity, as restoration efforts continue following the passage of category 5 hurricane Melissa.
