The West Indies women got their tour of Australia off to a winning start today  with a 4-wicket victory over a new South Wales women’s team at Wilson Park  in  Sydney.

Karishma Ramharack   bagged  3  for  12   and  skipper  Hayley  Mathews  2  for  7  as  new  south  wales  women  sent  to  take  first  strike  was    restricted  to  105  for  9………….Sammy–jo Johnson  28  and  Hannah Darlington  24  got  most  runs  for  the  home  team

The  west  indies  in  their  reply   posted  106  for  6  with  Shemaine  Campbell  hitting  5  fours  in  her  run-a-ball  33, while  Hayley  Mathews  scored  24/

Aaliyah  Alleyne  supported  with  19  not  out  and  Zaida  James  15  not  out………..Stephanie  Taylor  and  Rashada  Williams  both  faced  three  balls  before  they  were  dismissed   without  scoring

The  west  indies  women  are  in  Australia  for  a  six  match  series  starting  on  October  one   with  the  first  game  of  a  three  match  T/20  International  series  which  will  be  followed  by  a  three  match  one  day  international  series  which  gets  underway  at  the  Allan  border  oval  in  Brisbane  on  October  8
