Water issues delay opening of St. Hilda’s High School in Brown’s Town, St. Ann

At least one high school in Brown’s Town, St. Ann has had to delay its opening today, following the Easter break, due to water issues which are impacting the community.

In a letter to parents, the St. Hilda’s Diocesan High School says it has delayed the re-opening of school until further notice.

The letter explains that the decision was made due to the fact that the institution does not have access to adequate water supply on the school compound.

St. Hilda’s notes that it has been experiencing severe challenges over the past two months with access to adequate water supply.

It says it has made numerous attempts to secure the precious commodity, however these have proven futile.

The institution says it will inform parents as soon as it is able to re-open.

St. Hilda’s is a boarding institution and has a number of students who live on campus during the school term.
