UTECH Lecturers and administrators to stage silent protests at Papine and Western campuses this morning
Staff attached to the University of Technology Academic Staff Union (UTASU) and the University of Technology Administrative Staff Union (UTASA) have signalled their intention to stage a silent protest this morning.
UTASU President, Clavery Allen told IRIE FM news that the protest will begin at 7 AM at the University of Technology’s Papine gate in St Andrew and its other campus on Dome Street, in Montego Bay, St James.
The protest will then move to the Ministries of Education and Finance.
It follows the lecturers’ and administrative staff’s rejection of the latest compensation proposed by the Government.
Mr. Allen sought to assure that classes would not be impacted by the protest and are scheduled to start at 8 AM.
